We have decided to offer Grain-fed Beef as well as Grass-Fed beef for the customer that wants top quality beef with more fat. We raise our Grain-Fed Beef with the same standards as our Grass-Fed Beef. These cattle are chosen for their genetics in marbling fat and expected gain on grain. We work with the grain producers to mix a ration that is healthy for the cattle and for the beef the consumer eats.
deGraan Farms does not feed-lot the cattle. The cattle are raised on grass pasture, but fed a ration of grain every day. We do not offer free choice rations to the cattle, so that they are expected to graze grass as well. No antibiotics are added to the grain.
